Absinthe Lollipops

Surely, Toulouse Lautrec is turning over in his tiny grave right now, but we couldn’t resist posting this. Yes, the preferred beverage of the Montmarte bohemians can now be found in the form of…a lollipop. The idea is cute enough and the green hue is certainly tempting, even if the branding and marketing campaign has something to be desired (check out their website and you’ll see what we mean). Thanks anyway, Lollyphile. We’ll wish upon the real Green Fairy for the time being.

Festival de Cannes Poster Released

An iconic Hollywood couple strikes a romantic and eye-catching pose on the new poster for the 66th Cannes Film Festival, released today.

The original photograph of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward kissing passionately was snapped during the shooting of a largely forgettable 1963 romantic comedy, A New Kind of Love. The photograph from the shoot was isolated, remastered and redesigned by the Paris-based Bronx agency.

Unlike that film, the couple endured, making several appearances together at France’s most celebrate cinema fete. The pair was honored at the Festival de Cannes in 1958—the year of their marriage—with the selection In Competition of Martin Ritt’s The Long Hot Summer, the first film in which they appeared together.

This year’s Cannes Film Festival will romance the Rivera from May 15 thru 26.
